Kiwanis Club Supports WYSC!
September 14, 2016
This fall all the teams of the Whitewater Youth Soccer Club (WYSC) will be starting the season with new game balls, updated first aid kits and a number of other equipment upgrades due to the generous donation of the Whitewater Kiwanis Club.
Jerry Grant, Antonio Aranda, Jessica Osorio, Rick Norman and Jean Bromley
On Tuesday afternoon, Kiwanis Club treasurer Rick Norman presented WYSC board members a check for $2000 after the soccer club president, Jessica Osorio, and the director of fundraising and activities, Lisa Huempfner, spoke to the group at their monthly meeting earlier that day. WYSC vice-president and coach Antonio Aranda, who had ordered the balls previously and had them printed with the Kiwanis Club logo, brought the new balls to the Whitewater soccer fields to show them off to Kiwanis Club members Jerry Grant (President), Jean Bromley (President as of 10/1), Rick Norman, Lorrie Koppein, Jean Ombascher, Ed Sweitzer and Irene Potocki at a small check presentation ceremony. The two groups have pledged to work together to continue to improve the city's soccer facilities for the growing athletic club. Community members can help support this effort by attending the Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Kiwanis Club as part of the Discover Whitewater event on Sunday, September 18th.
